Portrait of a women... troubled by her body.
This humorous show dives into an ex-gymnast’s past.
She was good, but not good enough to be remembered.
Eleven years of intense training shaped her vision of her body and her femininity.
In Cruda, she finds humor amidst the cruel memories. She exposes her internal chaos with acrobatic movements, twisting her body, wringing the truth from within. She divulges everything: her shame around food, her obsession with forcing her body to fit impossible standards.
Flexible in every way, she manipulates herself to be prettier, funnier, and skinnier – always more, more, more!
Her confessions liberate us as much as they liberate her. And once everything begins to slip out, the torrent can’t be stopped. She loves to feel free, express herself, laugh out loud, showcase her faults, be crude, and explicit. She loves to indulge and allow herself things that nobody else will…
Cruda is raw, and she loves that we love her.
The ‘Collectif À Sens Unique’ was formed by a group of students at the Quebec circus school.
In 2013, the collective moved to France and founded the company.
Using their eclectic personalities and disciplines to their advantage, they presented various short pieces, solos, and collective works, all of which brought them the vital elements that became the backbone of their first fulllength show for the streets, Léger démêlé. They travelled the roads of Europe with this show from 2015 to 2019.
Their encounters and their experience growing, the artists of the collective launchend a duo project [Mule] and 2 other solos [Oratorem, Cruda].
